XVI International Workshop on
COMPLEX SYSTEMS

13-17 March, 2023

Andalo (Trento)

The XVI International Workshop on Complex Systems will take place in Andalo (Italy) from 13 to 17 March 2023.

Andalo is a beautiful village in the heart of the mountains of Trentino, about 30 km far from Trento. Following its longstanding tradition, the workshop will bring together experimentalists theoreticians and computational scientists, working on different areas of complex systems.

The program will be interdisciplinary and it will include oral and poster contributions. As usual, plenty of time will be foreseen for discussions, maybe while enjoying the slopes of the Ski area Paganella.
The workshop will emphasize new results and points out new directions, challenges and opportunities in the following fields:

  • glasses and glass transition;
  • colloids, colloidal glasses and soft matter;
  • water and liquids;
  • biological matter.

Selected proceedings will be published in a special issue of Philosophical Magazine.

The opening lecture will be given by Giorgio Parisi, 2021 Nobel Prize in Physics.

Venue

Andalo is a beautiful village lying on the Paganella plateau, in the heart of the mountains of Trentino.
Its territory is part of the Adamello-Brenta natural park, Ski-lift facilities lead visitors up to Cima Paganella (2125 m) to explore Alpine meadows and huts and are connected to Andalo’s ski-runs.

The workshop will be held at the Palacongressi of Andalo. All the Lunches, dinners and the poster sessions (with drinks!) will be hosted at the hotel la Bussola for all the participants. For the bravest participants, a special dinner will be organized on the evening of Tuesday 16 February in a typical lodge on the ski slopes. Ascent and descent will be done using the Paganella cable car.
Accommodations will be managed by the agency Consorzio Paganella Skipass on behalf of the Organizing Committee.
